The Isha trip
My trip to Isha Foundation was exiting as the trip itself was unexpected and against odds. My companions had to leave somewhere leaving me alone, when I felt so bored I started for this trip. Isha yoga centre at Coimbatore was the nearest and I had a day's time to spend alone there.
The place is a forest area in the western ghats near velligiri where we a see a lot of tree lined up. I spent almost an hour staring at the statue of Adiyogi. There is even a place to meditate in the mid to tourist near the statue. I received a kind of sacred 'thertha' there. I thought that was it but people cannot come there for only this...
I saw an entrance to a temple like thing. The entrance showcased some rock carvings and beautiful font writing of ' Isha'. I got to cross the road and pass the entrance, walk straight past the trees lined on the way. When I reached the next entrance to enter the place they collected my phone , phone no age and even took my picture. I had leave my sandels beside. Still I had a way inside....
There is a pool of water called 'Suryakunda' where people go for a short linga namaskaaram. They will provide dark yellowish brown dhoti to wear while we get into the pool. There are three shiv lingas in the pool where we can do our offering. There is a big Surya chakra on top of the pool. I got to stare at the pool for sometime and started walking past it. I had a leg injury which led me not get into the pool so I kept walking barefoot . This way was leading me to a temple entrance which I never saw after walking for long. Finally they let me inside the temple through some other way which I felt like a main entrance but the authority never allowed anyone in through that way. There was absolutely silence with two people a lady and a gentle man holding boards which read 'Silence.' and what are we supposed to do going inside the big dhyna Linga room. We're supposed to maintain silence and meditate with closed eyes for a minimum of 10 minutes. They will ring a small bell when we're supposed to go out if we wish. We cannot go out whenever. Leaving the ashram of Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev and adiyogi statue I collected back my belongings. It was overall a silent and awesome experience.
