G-20 and C 20 : One Earth One Family One Future

India took over the G-20 presidency in December 2022 and will be hosting more than 100 meetings across 41 cities from across most of the states and UT's inside India including Srinagar. As the name goes the presidency is rotated among all the 20 G20 nations like Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, UK and USA in the years to come. As the largest democracy and a fast growing economy, this presidency will be an opportunity to show the face of the country as a decision maker and add on to the previous 17 presidencies. There are two many ways of engagement to this summit, the 'sherpa' track that consist of 'sherpa' who are the personal envoys of leaders of member nations and who will oversee and negotiate the substance of the submit; and the finance track which consist of central bank governers and finance ministers. Engagement groups comprising non governmental groups provides recommentations to the G20 leaders and contribute towards the policy making. Civil 20 Engagement Group chaired by Mata Amritanandamayi Devi is one such group that focuses on Digital Transformation, Gender Equality, Sustainable Development, Holistic Health and Technology Security. These key focus areas are aligned with the essence of G20 as the goal of the summit involves :

1) Green Development, Climate Finance & LiFE

2) Women led development

3) Accelerated inclusive and resiliant growth.

4) Technological Transformation & Digital Public Infrastructure

5) Multilateral institutions for the century

6) Promoting SDG.

SDG or Sustainable Development Goals includes No Poverty, No Hunger, Good Health, Gender Equality, Clean water and sanitation, Renewable Energy, Employment, Innovative Infrastructure, Reduced inequalities, Sustainable cities and Responsible Consumption. It also includes action points to have with peace and justice, tackle climate change and Life on earth and under water.

By the time we reach November 30 2023 to transfer the baton to Brazil, India will convey its perspective of 'Oneness' also called 'Vasudevakudumbakam' to the world.
